The 50th Iditarod Champion 2022 is now in Nome
After 8 days, 14 hours & 36 minutes on the trail, the Iditarod 2022 champion is now crowned!
Brent Sass of Wild and Free Mushing, reached Nome, Tuesday at 14:36 CET. Making him the 50th winner of the Iditarod. Brent has won the Yukon Quest three times, and his best finish in the Iditarod was 3rd place - until now.
Brent Sass is born and raised in Minnesota, but moved to Alaska over 20 years ago. After falling in love with the trails of Eureka (Alaska) Brent took over a homestead established in the 70’s, where he has now lived with his dogs since 2012.
Mushing is and has for the most of his life been a part of Brent. It gives him a chance to get out and explore Alaska, but most importantly its about the dogs and the relationship he has with each and every one of them.
Brent Sass is living his dream, setting and accomplishing goals is what drives him every day. Now he has reached one of his top goals - taking home the victory this year.
Hatts of to him and his team!
